In the United States however, the use of hydraulic lime has almost disappeared.  Instead Portland cement and gypsum are used in combination with off-gassing binders.
We use hydraulic lime from St. Astier, France, where it has received the french version of a Green Label - Labelvert Excell.  In France, this label guarantees the total absence of contaminants and any risk of pollution.  It authorize its use in chemically sensitive areas such as childrens rooms, living spaces, and wine cellars.

The different types of lime plasters create a wide range of effects.  From a rustic textured finish to a high polish marble-like smoothness.  For the most exquisite of the plaster finishes we use the Italian made Spatula Stucchi, these are the highest quality Venetian Plasters.  These products can be applied to most existing wall finishes.
