Born in Italy, Giuseppe Fratus began his apprenticeship at the age of 13 in the Lake Como region of Northern Italy, under Master Masons Sepulcri Onorio and Alberto Cavalli. Masonry in Italy incorporates every aspect of building, from pouring the foundation to placing the clay tile roof. Giuseppe has travelled extensively using his skills as a mason. In Italy he worked with various architects in new construction as well as modernization and restoration of residential properties. Giuseppe also spent five years in Sub-Sahara Africa with an aid association building schools and community centers. He has spent the last ten years between the United States and Italy, bringing his knowledge and talent of the craft to Old World Masonry. Giuseppe is a true old world artisan, he has a passion for his trade and over 25 years experience in working with masonry construction.
